Frequently asked
How does Summit decide what my next step is?
Your goal, timeline, and the most recent check-ins are sent to our AI model, which generates the next batch of steps. If you mark a step as "too easy" or "too much", the next step adjusts. The model never sees other users' goals.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple or Google, not by us. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Summit → Cancel. On Android: open the Play Store → Subscriptions → Summit → Cancel. Cancelling at least 24 hours before the next billing date stops the renewal.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google. For iOS, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. For Android, see the Play refund help page. We can't issue refunds directly because we never see your payment details.
How do I delete my account and data?
The fastest path: open Summit, go to Settings, and tap "Delete account". This signs you out, clears local data, and removes the link between your goal history and your account. You can also email rmardall@gmail.com and we'll handle it for you within 30 days.
Does Summit work without the internet?
You can read steps you've already received offline. Generating new steps and submitting check-ins requires a connection to our coaching API.
Why does Summit ask for microphone access?
For dictating the long-form answers - your goal, your why, your reflections - where typing on a phone is slow. Tap the mic where you see it. We use your device's built-in speech recognition to turn speech into text, then discard the audio. If you'd rather type everything, decline the permission and the app still works.
Why is Summit asking about photo library on iOS?
A third-party framework we use declares the permission, but Summit never accesses your photos. We're working to remove that prompt in a future update.
I switched phones - will I lose my goal?
Sign in with the same Apple or Google account on the new device. Your active goal will reload. Daily history (the specific steps you saw) is stored on-device and won't follow you over yet - that's on the roadmap.
Is what I tell Summit private?
Your goal and reflections are stored on your device and sent to our AI model only when generating new steps. We don't keep a database of your coaching history, and our AI provider doesn't use it to train its models. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
